My story

My name is Raphael, the nickname Roff was something friends had started during late high school and somehow it stuck around as I moved around between restaurants, hence the name Chef Roff. I’d started this business when I’d moved to Byron Bay in 2020 during the Pandemic as a way to express myself in my craft and to unite people over a special meal, now that I’m back in Sydney I’d love to share my catering with you..

I am fortunate in life to have always been surrounded by delicious food made by my Babushka’s (Granny in Ukrainian). Quality family time was usually spent surrounding a table full of food, that was our time to laugh, joke, connect & debate. It wasn’t until later that I realised the effect that a shared meal can have.

In my late teens, my friends and I took an interest in a plant based diet and holistic living. I found myself cooking for them frequently and my Mum took notice, one day Mum sparked the idea with the simple question “Would you be interested in a Chef’s apprenticeship?“, that day I was enrolled to start my apprenticeship and found myself a Kitchen to start. I can be pretty spontaneous however this journey felt right, little did I know how much it’d shape me.

This business was started as it was a dream to share my personalised table experience. My catering takes influence and is a fusion from many cultures & cuisines including Australian native bush herbs/spices. If you’re curious please reach out.
